Radon Testing. Done right.

A radon test is the only way to know what your family is breathing. We provide Health Canada-recommended long-term tests and certified short-term tests for real estate transactions across Windsor-Essex.

Why test

Every Windsor-Essex home should be tested

Radon levels can vary widely from house to house, even on the same street, because the gas depends on the soil under your specific foundation, the building's tightness, and how air moves through it.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and Health Canada both recommend that all homes be tested — newer builds, older builds, basements, slab-on-grade, all of it.

The good news: testing is straightforward, and if your home tests high, mitigation works. Most homes drop to under 100 Bq/m³ after a properly designed system is installed.

Test options

Two test types — choose what fits your situation

Recommended

Long-term test (91+ days)

Health Canada recommended

  • Most accurate way to measure your home's typical radon exposure
  • Captures normal seasonal variation
  • Deployed in the lowest lived-in level
  • Lab-analyzed results delivered with a clear report

Best for: Homeowners who want a true picture of their home's radon level.

Short-term test (2–7 days)

For real estate transactions

  • Faster turnaround for time-sensitive decisions
  • Continuous radon monitor (CRM) deployed under closed-house conditions
  • C-NRPP certified protocol accepted by lenders and lawyers
  • Used to trigger or remove mitigation conditions on a sale

Best for: Buyers, sellers, and agents working a Windsor-Essex transaction.

How a test works

Simple, certified, and lab-verified

  1. 1

    Drop-off & placement

We deliver and position the radon detector in the correct spot — lowest lived-in level, away from drafts, vents, and direct sun.

  2. 2

    Measurement period

The detector sits undisturbed for 91+ days (long-term) or 2–7 days (short-term). You don't do anything.

  3. 3

    Lab analysis & report

We retrieve the device, send it to an accredited lab, and deliver a written report explaining your level and what (if anything) to do next.

What your result means

Under 100 Bq/m³

Low radon. No action required. Re-test every 5 years or after major renovations.

100 – 200 Bq/m³

Below the action level, but worth lowering if you spend a lot of time in the basement.

200 Bq/m³ or higher

Above Health Canada's action level. Schedule a mitigation consultation.

Tested high? We can fix it.

If your test exceeds 200 Bq/m³, we can design and install a mitigation system that brings it down — usually in a single day.
